Superior Print Quality and Color at 300 dpi Resolution

A newly developed thermal head with 2048 elements provides high resolution of 300 dpi. Sony dye transfer sublimation thermal printing technology provides near photographic quality prints with over 16 million color variations and over 700 lines of horizontal resolution.

Digital Printing

The optional SCSI interface board provides users with direct connection to a variety of computers and networks. Adobe Photoshop Plug in Export Modules are provided for Macintosh and Microsoft Windows compatibility.

High Speed Printing, A5 size (5 7/8 x 8 3/8)

Sony's proprietary printing mechanics and highly sensitive print media allows rapid printing with newly developed high speed processing chips. Full color images can be printed in 30 seconds.

Worldwide Compatibility

The UP-5600MD accepts 525 lines of analog RGB, S-Video (Y/C) and composite video signals which conform to EIA and NTSC standards. With the optional memory board, the printer can accept CCIR/PAL video and 625 lines analog RGB signals. The UP-5650MD also comes with a worldwide power supply for 100V to 240V.

External Remote Controls

For external remote control, the UP-5600MD can be connected to a computer via RS-232C interface. A remote control unit (RM-5500) can be purchased separately, and can be used in both wired and wireless operation. An optional footswitch (FS-30) is also available. With these options, the UP-5600MD is ideal for image creation, patient records and physician copies in such applications as ultrasound, radiological imaging, endoscopy, pathology and microsurgery, or other applications that require UL/544 approval.

New Media

The UP-5600MD utilizes new, high quality paper and transparencies. The UPC-5510 color paper and UPC-5530 transparency media produces superior color representation and dynamic range. The UP-5600MD includes a starter pack of paper for 25 prints.

Four Frame Memory

The UP-5600MD features fourt built-in frame memories capable of storing four full images. A variety of print modes are available: 1,2,4,8 or 16 composite prints. Full frame resolution can be achieved even in the 4 in 1 mode.
